This is an introductory scuba diving training that consists of a theoretical part and a practical part in the water, giving us the necessary knowledge to then dive in the Punta Loma reserve, where a colony of sea lions resides year-round.
Throughout the entire experience, an instructor will accompany you to ensure you enjoy the activity to the fullest. It is important to note that the interaction depends on the animals, as they are in their natural state. The interaction should be peaceful, avoiding any strong movements and not attempting to restrain them. These mammals are not aggressive and do not feel threatened by our presence in the water, so there is no need to fear them. Puerto Madryn is one of the few places in the world that allows us to admire this wonderful species in their natural habitat.

We depart from our location to embark on a tour of the best beaches in Puerto Madryn. We will visit the ruins of Punta Cuevas, the first Welsh settlement in Patagonia, the Tehuelche Indian National Historic Monument, the famous Ecocenter, Playa Kaiser, and Punta Este, known for the imposing sand mountains that surround and contrast with the turquoise waters. We will also see the Folías shipwreck in front of Playa Paraná, which has become a great haven for various seabirds and, underwater, a large artificial reef inhabited by fish, algae, polyps, anemones, mussels, sea urchins, and starfish.
Those who wish can enter the water to practice snorkeling and have the opportunity to explore much of the Folías Shipwreck from the surface since, at low tide, a large part of the ship remains above the surface, allowing you to explore both what is outside and inside the water. Its walls are covered with algae, polyps, anemones, and mussels, creating an artificial reef. Groupers and Turkish fish, among others, inhabit it.
We will spot a large number of seabirds such as cormorants, terns, giant petrels, and others. Also, during these months, we have many chances of encountering whales along the way. The tour is guided by instructors and guides specialized in marine wildlife and the history that accompanies each point of our journey.
